Gulistan E Eram

Gulistan-e-Eram is a historic Kothi that reflects the architectural transition of the Nawabi era, where Indo-European influences were adapted to local materials, climate, and craft traditions. Positioned along Lucknow’s historic riverfront, the building was conceived as a complete architectural composition defined by proportion, rhythm, and spatial hierarchy.
When restoration began, much of this architectural clarity had been obscured by decay, vegetation, and incompatible past repairs. The project focused on recovering the building’s original legibility through careful conservation, material compatibility, and restrained intervention, allowing the structure to retain its age, character, and dignity.
